My Own Tooth Whitening Experience (as an owner)

Whiten your teeth Chandler AZ

Today I whitened my own teeth! As an owner of a whitening studio I get the opportunity from time to time to give myself a whitening session. It can be challenging to do it yourself which is why it’s a great idea to come into the studio and let me do it for you! Here are some common questions I get asked.

🛑 Will I have pain?
The level of sensitivity varies from person to person. It depends on a persons enamel strength too. I do not have pain after my whitening treatment but, other people can experience discomfit and may need to take Tylenol or something equivalent to help reduce the pain. If you have any discomfort it usually goes away in 24 hours.

🛑 Will my gums bleed?
I have never seen anyone have bleeding gums during a whitening session but, that would be something to discuss with your dentist it could be signs of gum disease, periodontal or gingivitis. The whitening treatment does not cause bleeding gums.

🛑 How long will my session last?
Each session is scheduled for 60 minutes. We do take breaks every 20 minutes. You will relax in our gravity massage chair during your whitening session. This is completely voluntary if you would like to use the massage feature. Many people enjoy it and leave feeling relaxed.

🛑 What do I eat?
Since we open the pores on your teeth keep in mind that you will be exposed to anything you eat. It is best to be on a white diet (chicken, mashed potatoes, clear liquids, etc.). It takes about 24-48 hours for your pores to close so you will have to stay away from anything that stains a carpet because it will most definitely stain your teeth.

🛑 What do you have to do to whiten my teeth?
We will use a cheek retractor to keep your mouth open, we place a barrier on your gums to protect them, we use aquaphor to keep your lips moist, and gently place the whitening gel on each tooth. You will be under a light for 20 minute sessions.

🛑 How much whiter will my teeth be?
That depends on how long the stain has been there, age, and to be honest the condition of your teeth. It may take a couple sessions to see maximum results if you have heavy stains. I can guarantee that you will leave being able to see a big difference in your smile.
